Robert began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2010 dedicating the past 16 years to continuous training and competition. As a seasoned competitor, Robert has amassed more than 200 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu matches, including over 40 matches at the advanced and black belt levels. He is a multiple-time champion at IBJJF Opens and numerous Gi and No-Gi tournaments, consistently demonstrating success against high-level opponents. In 2023, Robert competed in the ADCC East Coast Trials, earning more match victories than any other competitor representing Virginia during the event.
Beyond Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Robert has extensive experience in wrestling and judo, giving him a well-rounded grappling foundation. He previously served as a combatives instructor for the U.S. Army, teaching both the Army Combatives Program and the Special Operations Combatives Program. His combat sports experience also includes multiple professional and amateur competitions in mixed martial arts (MMA), kickboxing, and Pancrase.
Robert is passionate about helping students of all ages and experience levels reach their full potential. Whether coaching someone stepping onto the mats for the first time or preparing experienced competitors for high-level tournaments, he is committed to providing technical instruction, a positive training environment, and the highest standard of coaching.
